Free Scientific Collector's Permit

Persons involved in research, survey work, collection or handling of wildlife species in South Dakota are required to possess a Scientific Collectors Permit, with the exception of most insects and other invertebrates unless they are listed as a rare species by the South Dakota Natural Heritage Program.
