Passport Kit

We have one Passport to Fishing and Boating kit available for loan. The kit has all of the equipment you'll need to hold a fishing or boating event (minus the fishing rods; see below). The kit has supplies, information, scripts, instructions and more for 6 educational stations:

Fishing Kits

Want to take your class, scout group, or community group fishing? We have four loaner fishing kits, plus one ice fishing kit, available for you to use. The kits are available to borrow free of charge, but we do require a $75 deposit on the intact return of the kit. Each kit contains enough fishing rods, reels, and tackle for 15 people. Kits can be checked out for up to 2 weeks. Contact Maggie Lindsey at (605) 773-2541 for more information.

Several of our state parks also have loaner fishing equipment available for use in their facility. This includes

Custer State Park,

Farm Island Recreation Area, 

Indian Creek, Recreation Area, 

Lake Herman Recreation Area,

Lewis and Clark Recreation Area, 

Oakwood Lakes State Park,

Pickerel Lake State Park,

Snake Creek Recreation Area, and the 

Watertown regional office

We have aquatic education exhibits and programs at The Outdoor Campus, Cleghorn Springs Fish Hatchery, Blue Dog Fish Hatchery, and McNenny Fish Hatchery. The Whitlocks Bay Spawning Station is also open for visits in the fall. Feel free to stop by for a visit sometime!
