Custer State Park to Host Open House on New Construction

CUSTER, S.D. – The South Dakota Division of Parks and Recreation will be hosting an Open House to show new construction, renovation and expansion plans at Custer State Park Resorts. The work is part of a $12 million bond package. The Open House will be Thursday, Aug. 23 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the State Game Lodge in Custer State Park.

State park and resort representatives will be available to share information, answer questions and solicit comments. The Open House will focus on the plans and designs for three new facilities and two facilities that will be renovated and expanded at the park’s resorts. The five facilities and additions include:

• Creekside Inn – 33 unit year-round addition near the State Game Lodge
• Outdoor Pavilion near the State Game Lodge
• Meadow Cabin – a four-unit cabin near the Coolidge Store
• Sylvan Lake Auditorium Addition
• Blue Bell Lodge expansion and remodel

Information on improvements and upgrades to existing buildings and infrastructure will also be available.
