GFP Sets More Meetings For Input On Mountain Lion Management

PIERRE, S.D. -- The South Dakota Department of Game, Fish, and Parks will be holding another series of open houses across the central and eastern parts of the state to solicit input regarding mountain lion management in South Dakota.

"Game, Fish and Parks is developing a Comprehensive Mountain Lion Management Plan for South Dakota," said Region Supervisor Cliff Stone of Chamberlain. The Mountain Lion Management Plan can be viewed online at www.sdgfp.info/Wildlife/MountainLions/MtLionIndex.htm.

Part of the process for developing the Comprehensive Mountain Lion Management Plan for South Dakota involves taking public comment. Individuals unable to attend the open houses are encouraged to visit the web site and provide comments directly on the web page. Comments can also be submitted by writing to: Mountain Lion Plan Comments, Game, Fish and Parks, 523 East Capitol Ave., Pierre, S.D. 57501.

• April 26 (Tuesday), 6:30 p.m., Pierre, Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce building, 800 West Dakota.
• April 27 (Wednesday), 6:30 p.m., Chamberlain, Oacoma Community Center, 100 E. 3rd Street.
• April 28 (Thursday), 6:30 p.m., Winner, Rich's Recreation Center, 126 E 4th Street.
• May 9 (Monday), 7 p.m., Watertown, Event Center theater.
• May 10 (Tuesday), 7 p.m., Aberdeen, Ramkota Convention theater.
• May 11 (Wednesday), 4-8 p.m., Mitchell, MTI Technology Center, 1800 E. Spruce.
