STEP OUTSIDE Coming to Beresford, Pierre

PIERRE, S.D. – Young South Dakotans near Beresford and Pierre are invited to "step outside" later this month. Beresford will host South Dakota’s third STEP OUTSIDEã event of the summer on Saturday, July 23, with another stop scheduled for Pierre on July 30.

"Thirty-eight youngsters, each accompanied by a parent or another adult, stepped out to the Rapid City Trap Club last Saturday," said Step Outside Coordinator Nick Tunge. "The youngsters had opportunities to practice with shotguns, .22 rifles, compound bows and tried their hands at fly casting. Further shooting instruction was provided through one-on-one coaching on a LaserShot shooting simulator."

Following the events in Beresford and Pierre, Armour is asking area youngsters to STEP OUTSIDEã on Aug. 20. The first year of STEP OUTSIDEã in South Dakota will wrap up in Spearfish on Sept. 10. Registration at each event is limited, so participants are encouraged to call now for registration details and to get signed up.

STEP OUTSIDEã is a national program of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, and was brought to South Dakota this summer by the Department of Game, Fish and Parks.
