The Game, Fish and Parks Commission rule requires that people who trap in parks and recreation areas must have a permit as follows:

41:08:01:10 Permit required to trap in parks and recreation areas--time restriction.

Persons may trap in parks and recreation areas during established furbearer seasons provided they have a permit issued by the park manager. Permits will only be issued for a period between the dates of November 1 through March 31 of the following year, and will be free. Permits may include conditional terms specific to the park where permit issued. Parks and nature areas closed to trapping by other administrative rules are not affected.

Newton Hills State Park, Custer State Park, Beaver Creek Nature Area, and Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve are closed to trapping.
