While
you can walk almost anywhere in the South Dakota state parks, several
parks feature hiking trails to take you out into nature. Hiking trails
in the South Dakota state parks range from flat to steep, from prairies
to hills and in length from 100 yards to 109 miles. Several parks
feature interpretive information to highlight the rich natural and
cultural history of the area. They are also commonly the site of the
Walk in the Park programs,
guided, educational hikes held throughout the year and co-sponsored by
the SD Departments of Health and Education. |
