Geocache Scavenger Hunt

Geocaching has become a popular activity within many parks and recreation areas across the nation.  Visitors enjoy searching for scenic vistas that take them behind the natural features or to unique historical sites.  Custer State Park complements this recreational adventure by offering a geocache scavenger hunt every year, which begins on Memorial Day Weekend and ends on October 31st.

It is important to note that Custer State Park only offers a "virtual" geocache scavenger hunt.  This means that the coordinates will take participants to specific sites, but the answers to the questions relate to visible items, such as interpretive panels, staff input, facility exhibits, and/or the surrounding landscape.  Participants who successfully answer the treasure hunt questions will be entered into a drawing for a variety of park-related prizes.  Participants can either search for the sites and answer the questions listed below or print a scavenger hunt booklet through the attached PDF.

Upon answering the questions, mail the completed booklet, along with the appropriate contact information, to the following address by October 31, 2008.  Three random winners will be notified by mid-November.
