Group Camping at Custer State Park

Custer State Park group and youth camping areas. Reservations for these areas begin November 1st. There is a $5 Non Refundable Reservation Fee for Non Residents. For Group Camp and Youth Camping Reservations, call the Reservation Center at (800) 710-CAMP (2267).

Game Lodge Group Camp:

Located near the State Game Lodge and Wildlife Loop Road this area is suitable for trailers or tents and includes the following amenities: group picnic shelter, showers, flush toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables. Swimming, fishing, and evening Park Naturalist programs are located nearby. Fees are $4.00 per person per night, $80.00 minimum.

Stockade Lake Reserved Group Camp:

Stockade South Campground (PDF Map)

Located on the shore of Stockade Lake this area is suitable for small trailers and tents and includes the following amenities: group picnic shelter, vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables. Fishing is available on site and swimming and evening Park Naturalist programs are located nearby. Group campers have access to showers and flush toilets located in Stockade South Campground. Fees are $4.00 per person per night, $80.00 minimum.

Non Profit Youth Areas

Shady Rest Non Profit Youth Area:

This area is for non-profit youth organizations camping in tents. It is located in a shady draw with an intermittent stream running through the area. Amenities are limited as this areas provides a rustic type camping experience. Vault toilets, fire grates, picnic tables are located on site. Water must be brought in and is available at various locations throughout the Park. Showers are available between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Game Lodge Campground. Fees are $0.50 per person per night, $6.00 minimum.

Center Lake Non Profit Youth Camping Area:

Center Lake Campground   (PDF Map) Take the road that goes towards the Boat Ramp.

The Center Lake Youth Camping Area is located in the day use area on the east side of Center Lake.  The campground is designed for youth groups (Boy Scout, Girl Scouts, Church Groups, etc.) camping in tents only and with adult supervision.  The sites designated for Youth Camping are Sites A, B, C, D, and E.  This area offers a primitive camping experience; facilities are limited to vault toilets, 5 picnic tables and 5 fire grates.  Water may be obtained from the shower house located near the swimming beach.  Showers are available at the Center Lake shower house between the hours of 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm.  Camping fee is $0.50 per person per night, $6.00 minimum.
