Springfield Recreation Area

Nestled along the shore with breathtaking views of the Missouri River, park visitors experience friendly, small-town America. A bike trail connects the park to the town of Springfield for easy access for groceries and other supplies. Adjacent to the park overlooking the river is a beautiful nine-hole golf course. Campers enjoy a bright day along the water at Springfield Recreation Area.

  • Open year-round

  • Park entrance license required: $6/day/vehicle or $28 for an annual pass

  • Camping & Fees: $10/non-electrical, $14/electrical site. 21 sites (20 electrical). Showers. Water. Dump station.

  • Camping Cabins: Two cabins. Each sleep four people. $35/night.

  • Reservations: (800) 710-2267 or www.CampSD.com. Up to 90 days prior to arrival. Campsites May to Sept. Cabins May 1 to Oct. 1.

  • Recreation: Camping. Cabins. Biking. Boating. Fishing. Hiking. Picnic shelter. Playground. Good base for waterfowl hunting in the fall. Adjacent nine-hole golf course.

  • Fishing/Boating: Fish cleaning station. Boat ramp. Accessible fishing dock. Smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, walleye. License required.
