Most people believe that hunting and the HuntSAFE program are something that is just for the boys, but that is definitely not the case. Ellen and Claire Reinecke are sisters who took part in the HuntSAFE program this year and plan some hunting time with their family.

Both of them became interested in hunting through their dad. “My dad hunts and it sounds pretty interesting and adventurous,” Claire said. Ellen added that others in her family also hunt. “Our grandpa and uncles hunt, too.”

The sisters agree they plan on hunting mostly pheasants, but disagree on who will be the better hunter. Ellen boasted, “I will, I have better vision, and I am pretty competitive.” Claire thinks she will be better and has a story to back up her conviction. “I will be the better hunter. Ellen tried to shot a flower with a bb gun once and the bb went through the window at our house.”
