Parks Host Open House Weekend

            As a kickoff to the summer season, the South Dakota Division of Parks and Recreation will be hosting Open House Weekend on May 16-18.  Park entrance licenses will not be required so entrance to all South Dakota state parks will be free. Camping fees are still in effect.
            Several activities are happening in the parks on the Saturday of Open House Weekend including:

• 28th Annual Trail Tour 5K at Big Sioux
• Walk in the Park entitled Talking in the Trees at Richmond Lake
• Hartford Beach is hosting a disc golf tournament
• Group lodge ribbon cutting and open house at Palisades

            Palisades is hosting the Fabulous Fishing Frenzy on Sunday, May 18.
