Volunteer Job Description
Maintenance Volunteer

Work Schedule
If maintenance volunteers are staying at volunteer campsites, each maintenance volunteer works a minimum of 24 hours per week (includes working weekends and holidays) for a minimum of 30 days and a maximum of 90 days. If a maintenance volunteer is not staying at a volunteer campsite, the total work hours for each week will be determined by the volunteer and the Park Manager together. Maintenance volunteers will work with the Park Manager to determine specific job duties and work schedule.

Accommodations
Volunteers working a minimum of 24 hours per week for a minimum of 30 days/maximum of 90 days are provided with free campsites equipped with electrical hook-ups. Volunteers provide their own housing, and personal items.

Duties
Duties and percentage of time spent on each will vary park to park and season to season. The list below shows duties that may occur for this position. Upon application, the park manager will indicate which duties apply.

General Maintenance

  • Mow
  • Trail maintenance
  • Tree trimming
  • Paint buildings and picnic tables
  • Litter pickup
  • Equipment repair
  • Clean comfort stations, including toilets, vanities, floors, walls, mirrors
  • Clean picnic shelters
  • Clean shop and office floors, windows, bathrooms
  • Go to town for equipment parts
  • Facility construction
  • Pour concrete
  • Collect and empty trash and recyclables
  • Replace light bulbs
  • Other duties, will specify
  • Special Projects as needed

    • Assist with special projects related to the visitor center and park operations. These projects can be structured to the volunteer’s interests and talents.
