Volunteer
Work Schedule
Work schedules for special project volunteers are determined by the volunteer and
the park manager. Accommodations
Volunteers working a minimum of 24 hours per week for a minimum of 30 days/90 days
maximum are provided with free campsites equipped with electrical hook-ups. Volunteers
provide their own housing, personal items and their own transportation to the work sites
in the park. Duties
The list below shows possible duties for this position. Park managers are open to new ideas, so if you have an idea not listed here, please
contact the park manager of the park for which you would like to volunteer. Special
project volunteers must have the ability and interest to complete
projects in their areas of expertise.
Possible Individual Projects
- Research and write history of a park
- Other research projects
- Landscape design
- Flower bed gardening
- Sewing costumes for living history programs
- Special carpentry projects
- Graphics and artwork for various brochures, manuals and posters
- Photography
- Other duties
