South Dakota's Most Recent License Sales Totals License sales totaled more than $8 million in calendar year 2005 for resident hunting and fishing license sales, and more than $15 million for nonresident license sales. As the following chart shows, that accounts for over two-thirds of the Division of Wildlife budget.
Links to the 2005 sales figures by license type for both resident and nonresidents are below. A $5 surcharge is added to most of the hunting license types to be used towards public hunting opportunities and to provide funds for wildlife damage management. Over $1.5 million was split between the two funds in 2005. |
