Dakota Landscapes:Writing and Painting Workshop
with David Allan Evans and Gary Steinley

The Outdoor Campus is co-sponsoring a workshop for painting and/or writing about nature. Participants can specialize in painting (on-site oil painting) or writing (poetry, short fiction, and creative nonfiction), or they can divide their time equally between the two arts. The workshop will be taught by Gary Steinley, a South Dakota landscape painter, and David Allan Evans, poet laureate of South Dakota. These two instructors—based on their collaborations with each other—will not only provide instruction in their respective fields but also show how a writer can learn from a painter and a painter from a writer.
Age: 16 and up. Class size: maximum 12 in painting; 15 in writing.
Class dates: August 4-8 (Monday through Thursday, 8:30-12:00, 1-4; Friday, 8:30-12).
Cost: $225.00
