Voluntary Hunting and Fishing Surveys

Hunters and anglers may want to visit www.huntersurvey.com and www.anglersurvey.com to:

  • Help provide fish and wildlife agencies and hunting organizations with information needed to protect and enhance hunting and fishing opportunities.
  • Learn what other hunters and anglers nationwide think.
  • Become eligible to win one of ten $100 gift certificates for outdoor gear.

While these surveys are not sponsored or specifically endorsed by South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks, the information  produced by the surveys will help to identify where we need to focus our efforts to improve hunting and fishing opportunities.

Surveys ask about hunters’ and anglers’ participation levels, purchases of fishing and hunting equipment, and opinions about their outdoor sports. Survey results will be able to report the most popular equipment brands, species hunted or caught, as well as report hunter and angler feedback to improve products.

Surveys will be sent every month and first-time survey visitors must complete a short registration form. E-mail addresses collected will be used only to send monthly electronic surveys to participants; they will never be sold, given away or used for any other purpose. Gift certificates are awarded through a random drawing from participants who take the surveys each month.

The survey was developed by Southwick Associates of Fernandina Beach, Florida (www.southwickassociates.com). The firm tracks outdoor and natural resources trends and economic data to help agencies and trade groups protect and expand hunting, angling and other outdoor opportunities.
