2008 Mitchell HuntSAFE Class Schedule

HuntSAFE courses are designed
for persons age 12 through 15. Persons who are 11 may participate, but will
not be issued a Hunter Safety certification card until their 12th birthday,
unless the card is clearly marked that the card is not valid until the
person’s 12th birthday. If a student’s 12th birthday falls between September
1 and December 31, he/she may be issued a card and is eligible to obtain a
license and hunt beginning September 1 of that year. Adults are also welcome
and invited to attend!

Classes in Mitchell are
planned for March 27, 28 & 29; April 17, 18 & 19; May 15, 16 & 17;
Aug. 14, 15 & 16; and Sept. 11, 12 & 13. Thursday and Friday sessions
will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Davison County Fairgrounds.
Saturday sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mitchell
Trap Club. Registration will be held between 5:30 and 6 on the Thursday
evening of class. A parent must be present when registering a student. A
permission slip will be filled out at the time of registration. A hunter
safety manual is available at the Public Safety Building, 1015 S. Miller
in Mitchell for students who want to study the material before class.
Volunteer instructors provide the classes free of charge. All equipment,
including firearms, will be provided. For more information, call
