Group Lodges in South Dakota state parks

Six state park areas offer lodges. Each is unique in style and location. All provide wheelchair accessible facilities.

The lodges are a great place for a group to gather at any time of the year, whether it be relatives for a summer reunion, hunting buddies in the fall, or a family during the holidays.

Pets are not permitted
in the lodges.

Fees (Per night. Additional occupants $15 each. Camping units in the parking lot are subject to the regular per-night camping fees.)

Reservations

Lodges may be reserved year-round by calling the toll-free reservation line (1-800-710-CAMP) or reserving online at www.CampSD.com.

Reservations for the lodges are taken beginning Nov. 1 for all arrival dates during the upcoming calendar year. Learn more about reservations in SD state parks.

Mina Lake
At this cozy three-bedroom lodge, you can spend your down time snoozing in the shade of the surrounding trees or relaxing on the deck overlooking beautiful Mina Lake. View photos

Shadehill
The two-bedroom lodge at Shadehill Recreation Area is a favorite for family retreats and hunting groups. View photos

Lake Thompson
The lodge at Lake Thompson Recreation Area was once a farm house. Now the five-bedroom facility crowns one of the newest and most popular state parks in South Dakota. View photos

Newton Hills
This four-bedroom lodge features a 14'x28' upper deck with gas grill and a 14'x40' basement walk-out patio. It is the perfect location for your next gathering. View photos

Oahe Downstream
This lodge is perfect for large gatherings like reunions and meetings. A full kitchen is available with a serving counter. Many tables and chairs can be set up in the large room. The restrooms each have shower. The back deck overlooks water. The lodge has no bedrooms but does have outdoor electricity for trailers and motor homes.
$125 per night. Additional campsites may be available for the regular per-site camping fees.

Palisades
First available summer 2008, this lodge has four bedrooms that sleep up to 12 people. It also has a full kitchen, dining area and relaxation room. The back deck has a great view of the creek and Sioux quartzite rock formations. This is a perfect site for weddings, reunions and meetings.
