Earliest Reservation Dates
for South Dakota State Parks

  • Reserve online at www.CampSD.com or call 1-800-710-CAMP (2267)

  • The reservation season for campsites, picnic shelters and rent-a-campers is from the weekend before Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. In parks accepting autumn reservations, the reservation season runs until Native American Day (or Columbus Day). At other times of the year, all campsites and shelters are first-come, first-served.

  • Reservations for campsites and picnic shelters can be made within 90 days of arrival for the reservation season (except at Custer, see next bullet).

  • Custer accepts reservations beginning January 2 for all arrival dates during the park’s upcoming reservation season.

  • Camping cabin reservations are available year-round, within 90 days of arrival.

  • Lodges can be reserved beginning November 1 for all arrival dates during the upcoming calendar year.

  • Group camping reservations can be made between Nov. 1 and Feb. 1 for arrival dates during the upcoming reservation season.
