Campsites
With over 50 areas that allow camping, there are literally thousands of campsites to chose from. From shaded to grassy, waterfront to isolated, find the one that suits you best!

Camping cabin

Camping Cabins
A number of parks across the state offer camping cabins for a cozy stay. Often in a picturesque setting - nestled among the trees or overlooking the water - it's no wonder that the cabins have grown in popularity over the past few years.

Horse Camps
Horse camps are found in ten state park areas. Often found near the trailhead, these campsites offer horseback riders a place to bed down with their horses after a day of riding.

Group Lodges
Six state park areas offer lodges. Great for gatherings like family reunions and hunting groups, these lodges offer the comforts of home in an outdoor setting. Found at Mina Lake, Lake Thompson, Oahe Downstream and Shadehill recreation areas and Newton Hills and Palisades State Parks.

Group Campsites
South Dakota state parks make great places for group camping trips, whether they are family or class reunions, or just a bunch of good friends. Group camping sites are available in 28 state parks and recreation areas, and some even include cabins and picnic shelters.

Marinas and Resorts
Several state parks and recreation areas have resort and concession areas in the park. Each offers unique accommodations and services to help round-out your stay.

Accessible Facilities
To allow visitors of all abilities to enjoy the outdoors, many state parks feature accessible facilities, such as campsites, cabins, comfort stations, fishing docks and trails.
