Snowmobile Trail Conditions

Black Hills Trails


Trails open December 1 in the eastern part of the state and December 15 in the Black Hills. Grooming operations are dependant upon weather. 

The maps are normally available in October for the upcoming season.

Please note: Off-highway vehicles (OHVs/ATVs) can not ride on the designated snowmobile trails.

 

Black Hills Trail Conditions
Updated daily during the season, Monday through Friday,
or as the conditions change.

Northern Hills including the areas around Gravel Pit, Big Hill, Cement Ridge and Roughlock Falls

Snowfall: 2-3 inches
Temperature: Low: -0's, High: 0's
Trail Condition: These trails are in good to excellent condition.

Central Hills including the areas around O'Neil Pass south to Mallo Camp and east to Flag Mountain

Snowfall: 2-3 inches
Temperature: Low: -0's, High: 10's
Trail Condition: These trails are in good to excellent condition.

Deadwood/Lead Vicinity including the areas around Deadwood and Lead south to Custer Peak Lot and west to the Dumont Warming Shelter

Snowfall: 2-3 inches
Temperature: Low: -0's, High: 10's
Trail Condition: These trails are in good to excellent condition.

Southern Hills including all trails south and west of Flag Mountain

Snowfall: 2-3 inches
Temperature: Low: -0's, High: 10's
Trail Condition: These trails are in fair to good condition. Trail 2 south of 8 has minimal snow coverage.

General Black Hills Report:
The Black Hills snowmobile trails are in good to excellent condition. Temperatures are expected to be near 10 degrees today with a chance of snow. There are some areas on the trail system with minimal snow coverage and some bare spots. Trail 3M has been closed for the season sorry for the inconvenience.
