"This was my first year, 2005, on the Trek.
It was the BEST and it was definitely a stretch for my abilities but I
finished and made a lot of friends along the way. Trekkers are a
friendly bunch, the support from all the people along the way offering
water, lunch and bathrooms was greatly appreciated. The ride was well
organized and things went smoothly. We had beautiful weather and the
most beautiful scenery. Sign me up for next year!!"

"I just wanted to
thank all the GF&P employees and volunteers for their work in setting up
the 2005 trail trek. I had just a really fun time. Everything is so
well organized and I met some really nice people. I’ll be back."

"The 2004 Trek was our
first type of ride ever like this. My daughter and I did a little
bonding on the trip, it was great and something to be remembered
forever. We plan on coming back next year and bringing more family and
friends to enjoy everything there is to offer in the beautiful Black
Hills. Thanks so much for everyone involved."

"[My wife and I] rode
the Trail Trek this year, our first time. It was a great ride. Very
beautiful. Some areas are very hard to ride but good for the spirit when
you finish. I believe it will be a vacation location for us for years to
come."

"We drove from Wisconsin to ride in the Mickelson Trail
Trek. It was our 1st year and we enjoyed it tremendously. ... Thanks for
a great time."

"We have
ridden the Trek all 6 years, this will be number 7 and each year we look
forward to meeting others with like interests and abilities. It is
great to have all the details for shuttle services taken care of by
someone else. And we really think this has always been a deal, we love
all the nice items of clothing that accompany each year, and wear
the with pride as we do other trails. Thanks
MT staff."

"This was my first Trail Trek. A friend got
me started and I got my brother on board. I had only done parts of the
trail before and I am looking forward to this year even more. Thanks to
all the state employees and the folks at all the stops."

"This was my second year of riding the
Mickelson Trek. I rode the Big Mick this past summer also. I rode a
total of seven different rides this past summer and none compare to the
Mickelson Trek. The support by all the state employees is the BEST. The
Friday night banquet meal is beyond words!!!! The food provided on the
trail is great. The folks at each stop are so friendly and this year I
meet the Mayor of Hill City and found out he knew a life-long friend of
my family. No matter how many rides I do each year, I will always do the
Mickelson Trek and look forward to all the improvements done to the
trail each year."

"This was my first trail trek. I had ridden
part of the trail before in July 2000. My memory was that it was hot &
dry. It was the best of times & the worst of times. My car broke down
the first day. ...The support from the staff & the other cyclists was
INCREDIBLE. I couldn't have finished without this. ...This is the best
way to ride this trail. If I don't do this ride next year it won't be
because I didn't have a great time. Thanks for all those great people
who made this possible."

"We have rode the trail all six years of the
trail trek. It is a lovely way to view the whole trail, in a laid back
fashion, with details for shuttle service, etc. all taken care of. The
scenery of the Mickelson Trail is widely varied and multiple photo op
sites."

"I've been in the Blacks Hills before -
camping and sight-seeing - but I think that there's more scenery along
this trail than anywhere else."

"I most enjoyed the intelligent little
posters along the way. Every year it’s an improvement and it’s so
encouraging. My advice: don't get too caught up in the ride. You just
have to stop to see the beauty."
