Many wildlife species depend on the diverse wetland and grassland habitats that characterize much of South Dakota’s landscape.  The primary objective of this habitat program is to work with landowners and our conservation partners to implement wetland and grassland conservation practices that will benefit breeding waterfowl, other wildlife species dependent upon these habitats, and to meet the needs and management goals of landowners.  In addition to technical assistance, the Wetland & Grassland Habitat Program currently offers the following cost share options for private landowners:

Private Lands Habitat Programs

Wildlife Partnership Program

Wetland and Grassland Habitat Program

Walk-in Area Program

Habitat Management

Federal Farm Bill Conservation Programs
