Teacher Workshops

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHERS

Fall 2008, Monday evenings
5 to 8 PM CDT, 4 to 7 PM MDT

In the spirit of "No Child Left Inside," The Outdoor Campus is offering activities, materials and credits for teachers of Pre-school through Grade 2. 

"EE for EC" (Environmental Education for Early Childhood)

Benefits

  • Participate at any district in the state via DDN

  • Earn  one or two college credits
     

1. Select two of the topics (4 three-hour classes) and earn one college credit for $40    

OR

  2. Select all four topics (8 three-hour classes) and earn two college credits for $80

  • Get free teaching materials with each of the topics you select

  • Experience new ways to help our youngest learners understand and find their place in the natural world

Critter Crates
Critter crates are resource trunks filed with furs, skulls, activities and more! Please contact Kay Gannon at (605) 362-3524 or Kay.Gannon@state.sd.us for more information. Each crate requires a $75 deposit. Crates available throughout the state include: Mammal Crate A, Mammal Crate B, Bat Crate, Coyote Crate, Elk Crate, Endangered Species Crate, Grassland/Sod Box, Prairie Crate, and Tree Trunk. The only crate limited to in-town use only is the In-Town Mammal Crate.
